Allen Ashaba


Allen has  been actively involved over the years working on many aspects of health insurance development in Uganda from her academic base at the Child Health and Development Center (CHDC) at Makerere University, Kampala. She worked with many of the international donors on health financing issues in Uganda especially over the last five years, including UNICEF(under supervision from Child Health and Development Center, Makerere University, she established the first ever, community health insurance scheme in a government Heath center in Zirobwe Health center III), WHO, SIDA, ODA/DfID, DANIDA, ILO. She also worked for Society of Women Against AIDS in Africa (SWAA –Uganda) as the Program Capacity Building Coordinator where her duties among others include, planning for the organisation, developing proposals and soliciting for resources for the organisation, carrying out monitoring and evaluation for the organisation and generally giving direction for the running of the organisation.
