Virtual University of Uganda
29 June 2018
Drop in day this year on Friday 29 June 2018 at Virtual University of Uganda hosted alumni, enrolled students, potential students and partners. The event that features annually on our calendar was also open to the public. It took place at our serene Campus in Muyenga, a suburb of Kamapala.
The agenda of the day was a simple one. There was an exhibition, presentation and remarks from university senior management members, partners, alumni and students.
Among the guests and partners that attended were Ms Catherine Tumusiime the Chief Human Resource Officer of UNOC (Uganda Natioanl Oil Conpany) who shared extensively about the job opportunities that are currently available in the Oil and Gas industry in Uganda. Stanbic Bank and MEMPROW (Mentoring and Empowerment Programme for Young Women) were also ably represented.
We had a good turnout. Guests came from within and across the border. Notably we had people coming in from Tanzania, Zambia and South Sudan. Some of the guests quickly showed interest in our programmes and were instantly enrolled. Students and alumni had a chance to share their testimonies. These were encouraging and inspiring. The testimonies were well captured for future use.
The management of Virtual University of Uganda is grateful to all the guest that were able to turn up. It is also thankful to the University staff and service providers for the roles played in making the event successful.
